Nora's (Almost) Birthday!

This has been a week for which we are very thankful! We've had fun and been blessed by the love of our family and friends.
1) On Thursday night, we headed to the Park to see Santa. We figured this would be a good time/place rather than going to the mall. It was a fast line. When Nora first came in she smiled at Santa. But once Josh placed her in his lap, she cried and didn't want to sit there. It was pretty cute :) But we still got candy, hot chocolate, and cookies to decorate so it was def. a good time!
2) We had a nice outing as a family on Friday night to town. We ate at Applebee's and went shopping for gifts at the mall before coming home and watching Night at the Museum 2.
3) God really kept us safe on the roads on Saturday. There was some snow but the roads were pretty bad--even I-69! We picked up Meredith in Lansing and continued on to N. Branch for a family Christmas reunion. It was great to see everyone and hear everyone's news, and exchange gifts. Nora loved hanging out with Aunt Mer!

4) Sunday was Nora's first Birthday party! We went to church with Meredith and right when we got back Kim and Mark came to help. I was very busy putting it all together but I was very happy with how it turned out. The theme was ladybugs and it was fun finding things in the theme--and she even got quite a few ladybug gifts too. Nora took a nap before the party so she was in a great mood! I didn't get many photos (the rest of the fam did, thankfully). Nora really enjoyed eating her ladybug cupcake--starting with the frosting first, of course. Lots of family got to come and we all had a great time!

5) We also celebrated a Mitchell Christmas that evening with 9 of us! We opened gifts, had great food (including little hot dogs, of course), and conversation. We did miss Grandpa Mitchell though!
6) Nora discovered the joys of tissue paper at her party. She couldn't really get the hang of the wrapping paper but did enjoy pulling out the tissue paper. So this morning while I was getting ready she had a ball getting into the tissue paper box. Daddy took this classic shot..."oh, no, did I just get caught?!"
7) The past 3 days, Nora and I have gone over to Josh's parents to help get their Christmas cards and baskets finished for employees. It's a big job but it's fun when we're working together. This has also called for a lot of cousin time. It's too bad that they aren't quite to the age where they like playing together! But Owen is really working on sharing :) (and that sometimes includes his mommy!)
