This week has continued to be one of adjustments for our family--mostly getting to know Penny and her patterns! She is such a good baby but it's been a challenge to get enough sleep and to figure out her nursing--she sure likes to suck and so she's been using a pacifier a lot more than Nora ever did.
This past Friday, our family got a new camera :) It's really nice and Josh plans to use it for Pinnacle as well as family photos. We had fun on Saturday with taking lots of pictures and plan to use some of them for our New Years card--whenever we get around to it!! After church on Sunday, the Maynard's came to visit...it was Pat and Kelley's first time to meet Penny and we had a nice time. They brought lunch--pulled pork :) and we even got in an afternoon nap while they watched football and helped clean the house! Later that night it was back to Youth Group--but just for a movie so it was very low-key and Penny slept the whole time. This week, the snow has kept us from some of our plans but we went to two storytimes and then this morning was the girls' check-up with the doctor. Penny weighs 8 pounds and is 20.5 inches (apparently she shrunk an inch since birth!) so that puts her at the 40th and 50th percentiles--a giant compared to Nora. Penny also has a case of thrush, thanks to her love of sucking! It's not a big deal--she'll need to go on an antibiotic and we'll need to be extra careful about cleaning her pacifier and everything. Nora has a cold, got two shots and weighs in at 20 lbs. 10 oz.--still below the charts but on her own little line below the chart. The girls did well considering we were there for 1.5 hours--I'm sure glad Josh was there too! We celebrated with a lunch at BWs--thanks, dad!
Nora continues to learn new words, counting more often, saying "Nora" and "Penny" :) We think she's also getting her 2 year molars although she hasn't been too bothered by them yet.
