4 Years & Still Going Strong

Well, I did try to blog last night but blogger.com was down. We had a great weekend--my dad, Aunt Kim, and Uncle Mark arrived Saturday for lunch (at Casa!) before the girls prepared for my Tastefully Simple party at Kathy's house. The guys did various projects at home--including putting up Nora's new (to us) swing. She has wanted to swing every day this week and thankfully the weather has allowed us to do just that :) My party went well, we had 15 people come and I got to buy some nice things for myself. After the party, my family watched the girls and Josh and I got to go out to eat together (well, he was hungry but I wasn't due to all the samples at the party!). Sunday was Penny's dedication so we had even more family and friends at church for that. Penny was able to wear the same dedication white dress that Nora did 2 years ago and was so cute :) After church, we all went to Jerry and Kathy's house for a Mother's Day brunch. It was nice to have all the family together to celebrate mom's and Penny! We went home to take naps before heading back to the Feed Mill for an impromtu picnic/kite flying/fishing party. The highlight of our week was going to the zoo with friends on Wednesday. We have been enjoying hot weather this week and Wednesday was especially warm. We enjoyed the African exibit, the farm, and a picnic lunch together. Another great day was, of course, our anniversary, May 12, 2011. We got to go out to lunch together and Josh and I get to go on a dinner date together tomorrow night.

This week, Nora has been doing well with her potty training. We went to the zoo with underware on and she was successful! Each day had about 1 accident. She's also been talking more and more plus enjoying being a big sister to Penny :) We went to the dentist this morning and Nora got to sit on my lap for the first 5 minutes while the dentist looked in her mouth. Hopefully, she won't be as scared when she goes for her first cleaning!

Penny was dedicated on Sunday--that will always be a special memory for us. We are borrowing an exersaucer from friends and Penny has enjoyed sitting in it a few times--she looks so old in it! Penny has been a little sick the last few days (and so has mommy). She has a little fever and has been extra fussy and sleepless. We're hoping to start feeling better soon (I do say that breast-milk is good for what ails you!).

We hope that you all had an enjoyable Mother's Day and a blessed week.
