I'm sorry that I didn't blog this last week. Days have been getting busier with Christmas near and will get even busier in the next week or so. I'm glad my faithful blog readers have been wanting to read our updates!
Two weekends ago, we had Grandma Maynard visit for a short time--we had fun seeing Gingerbread Houses in Ft. Wayne and later that night, Josh and I got to go on a double date with Ben and Maria--one last hurrah before babies come--out to dinner and to see the new Chronicles of Narnia. It was a nice evening. Owen and Nora also had fun sleeping over at Grandma and Grandpa Sauder's.
This past weekend was spent preparing for Nora's birthday party and her 2nd birthday party on Sunday. It was a sunflower theme this year (yes, mommy loves summery themes!) so we had lots of sunflowers around, ate chocolate covered sunflower seeds, and I made sunflower cupcakes. It was nice to have about 20 of our family members come to visit and enjoy the afternoon together. Nora had a great time--she blew out her candles by herself, opened most of the gifts herself, and was so fun to watch! One of her favorite gifts was a wagon--Owen and her sat in it for most of the rest of the party and he also enjoyed pulling her around the basement in it!
In Baby Nikki news, we are about a week away from meeting her in person! We now have a different doctor as my doctor delivered her baby this past weekend. We met him this past Monday and are confident he'll be a great one in the delivery room--if he's on call! We're still planning to go with the VBAC and are just waiting for Nikki to decide to come. We got to see her in one final ultrasound (our 4th for this pregnancy!). It was difficult to see her though because she's getting so big. The guestimate from the ultrasound is that she's 6 lbs. 13 oz. so she has a good chance of being a 7 pounder--1/2 pound or so more than Nora was.
Aunt Meredith came to visit for 24 hours today and we've enjoyed lunch together, a wagon ride, making cookies and a bubble bath. Tomorrow we'll enjoy breakfast in bed for Nora's 2nd birthday. I will also enjoy a prenatal massage :)
We hope that you all have a blessed Christmas and that you truly remember the reason for the season--the little boy that was laid in the manger. May you see him at work more and more in your life in 2011. We love you all and can't wait to tell you about the birth of our newest little one!!
