Penny-Pie is Growing!

Penny-Pie is one of the nicknames I've come up with for Penny. I call Nora "Nora Girl" and whenever I say "Hi, Penny-Pie!" now she repeats it too :) This past week was another good one. We worked on taxes on Saturday but also had time for a little helicopter fun (Samson loves it--he attacks it as if it were a huge fly!), had pizza with Aunt Megan, then watched Social Network. On Sunday Josh taught the youth group at night--on James 1. He did a lot of praying and studying for it and it really paid off! On Tuesday, Nora, Penny, and I went to Penny's 2 month appointment. We found out that she weighs 10 lbs. 10 oz. which puts her at the 50% and 22 in. which is the 40%. These numbers are higher than Nora ever was! Penny is in great health although she still has some of that pesky thrush sticking around. Last night Josh and I got to go to an awesome Chris Tomlin/Louie Giglio concert. He had won tickets to it and it was just a great time of worship! The girls were watched by Nora's favorite nursery person--Shannon. She's great with both of them and was a big help last night! They went out to dinner, she took them to church, and put them to bed :) Tonight we went to a local preschool night. It was a car theme and Nora pretty much "parked it" at the sandbox! She had a great time playing there but also did a little painting and playing with play-do :) We saw lots of little kids including the Affholter's. We're starting to consider the possibilities for Nora and preschool--although she seems way too young for this!!

Nora hasn't had much chance to focus on potty training--what with being out of the house and napping she doesn't get to wear her "Dora pants" much. But she has gone on the potty a few times this week. She's talking up a storm still, loves to play with dolls, teddies, her blanket, and stickers (she gets them confused with band-aids which she also loves). When Penny was getting her check-up Nora was interested/concerned. When Penny got her shots, Nora said "OUCHY!" but I don't know if she was talking about the shot itself or the band-aids! Penny did well with the shots (just crying a little). She keeps doing better at night. She goes about 6-7 hours between feedings but still does cry a few times in between. She continues to take a bottle--which is something I really want to keep up with (so she doesn't get out of the habit like Nora did). Penny's starting to really move her legs--just like Nora did at this age.

We hope that you see all the blessings that you have received this week and thank the One who has given them to you. God truly is the "Giver of all good things!"
